Madison Police Department "Providing Public Safety Since 1906…" It is an exciting time for us all. As we enter into the 21st Century it is important to remember that the fundamental duty of our Law Enforcement agency is to serve you; to safeguard lives and property; and to protect the innocent against deception. But this is just a small part of what we are held to do, and it can not be done solely by the agency. Citizen involvement in the community is a long-standing tradition in American public safety. Without the support of the community our law enforcement agencies stand-alone. We need to unite as a community, and stand our ground in the fight against crime. The Madison Police Department is at the service of the community and places it as a priority in everything that we do. Providing a World Wide Web Page is just another step towards the 21st Century. It is another way to reach out with the flow of information to you and from you. Such communications capabilities can pay off handsomely for our community. The purpose of this Web Page is to serve you. We encourage its use, and welcome any suggestions or recommendations that you may have to help us to make it better and superior to all others. If you have any questions feel free to email my office or call me at anytime (812-265-3347). Yours truly,John I. Wallace Chief of Police |
